Nella Luce Studio is about teaching creativity from the beginning level to the advanced level through music. Nella Luce Studio offers a holistic approach to learning where one of the objectives is to enjoy experimenting without judgement.  To just BE ME! Learning without being aware that the student is  learning.

The music creativity classes at Nella Luce Studio are about combining a planned program with an improvised program. The planned work is blended with a fluid approach where the studio teacher is responding to the students. This can lead to discussions and new experiences. The program is flexible and students are encouraged to be spontaneous.

The studio teacher will facilitate the creative process by training the student in the musical concepts beat, rhythm, pitch, structure , tempo and organising sound.

The creative process includes the following experiences:

  • Creativity (involves creative thinking skills e.g. solving problems, using the imagination, having creative confidence, questioning the status quo, being resourceful, leading your own learning, valuing who you are, exploring your interests. Creativity involves knowledge and motivation).  This could lead to a innovative idea as a result of the creative process.  Allow students to share their ideas is an important part of the process.

There are two main aspects of the learning program

  1. Planned Program: The learning program is tailored to your needs and interests.
  2. Improvised Program: The improvised program encourages spontaneous responses using the environment as the third teacher.  What this means is that the studio teacher will create an environment to inspire the students to ask questions, respond to the material, think critically and wonder.  The learning environment is set in natural surroundings.  The materials and resources that the studio teacher provides are carefully selected to support student learning.    Interacting with others is an important aspect of Nella Luce Studio.
