Be a MAKER, CREATOR or EXPLORER  and researcher.   Sculpture/CRAFT/VISUAL ARTS  CREATIVITY workshops for Homeschool families  

ART PROJECT HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM for TERM 3
Project 1: Research ART Project (Threatened Species) Incorporating some research skills and art skills. Children are encouraged to use multi-media to make their artwork. Techniques demonstrated each week.
Curriculum Links: English, Art, Science, Mathematics, Geography and PD
Competition opens 22nd July and Ends 27 August. I plan to submit the artwork in person on the 25th August after lunch or on the 26 August after lunch. All art items are due to me completed on the 25th August, 2022. If there are any changes I will let you know once I get an email from the Coordinator of the event after the event has opened. We can incorporate studies from the ROOTS and Shoots resource if applicable. It is optional to enter the competition. Students can choose other subject matter to research instead.
WEEK 1: No WORKSHOP (Tuesday Glaze workshop)
WEEK 2: No WORKSHOP children can gather information at home about their chosen animal and bring to class next week.
WEEK 3: Workshop 1 (04/08/22)
WEEK 4: Workshop 2 (11/08/22)
WEEK 5: Workshop 3(18/08/22)
WEEK 6: Workshop 4 ( 25/08/22) art work DUE may need to be mounted – we will all help each other. After lunch, I will be busy checking the submissions, applications and presentation of artwork.
If you want to paint on canvas extra fee applies. (depends on the size) Mounting boards are an extra charge if needed.
FEE: $24.00 per Workshop 10.30 am till 12.00 pm followed by Picnic Lunch 12.30 children can continue at leisure to work on their project, clean up and pack up. 1.30 Finish approx.

Week s7, 8 and 9 might be the start of the sewing project. TBC.

Family group workshops:  beginners to intermediate levels. 8 – 10 students.  Students can go on a waiting list for term 3 and I will try and find another venue if needed  for a bigger group.

 Age range: Students from 4.5 and to adults

(parents are invited to be part of either the  family project, student group project or class project or individual project.  This work with our hands is a symbol of love.  It can be love from the adult hand helping the child or the child making their own construction or the loving hands helping our peers to make. Parents are included as students when the child is enrolled.  Registration of $10.00 per child.  Student Parents get free registration and free enrolment into the course.   One registration fee covers all art forms except karate.

 (younger siblings 4.5 and under are free with  the supervision and support of their parents .

TO  COVER MAJOR COSTS: (conditions apply to help keep the costs down, thank you)

Casual basis is $15.00 per week for one child

Only one $10.00 yearly registration required per child for all the creative arts offered.

CREATIVE KIDS VOUCHERS ACCEPTED and can be used together with other disciplines like Music.

Concettina Gangemi (Bachelor of Education) Singer, Studio Teacher of Art, Craft, Singing, Piano, Music, Drama,  Italian for Beginners via Music and Drama and Action Research Practitioner. Experienced K-6  Primary school teacher.  Studied the Reggio Emilia Approach in Italy REAIE member

  • It can integrate with Science (materials, working scientifically), Mathematics (e.g. 2D shapes, 3D shapes, Position, working mathematically, English (vocabulary building etc), PD interactive.

AIM:  The art creativity classes designed by Concettina – Nella Luce Studio are about combining a planned program with an improvised program. The planned work can be changed or blended with a fluid approach where the studio teacher is responding to the students. The program is flexible and students are encouraged to be spontaneous.The creative process promotes creative thinking skills e.g. solving problems.  The program is a work in progress and requires Concettina to be a participant in the learning process and take notes,  provide feedback,  take photos or videos. (permission is asked from parents for the teacher to take photos – included in the enrolment form)

Studio teacher, Concettina Gangemi aims to nurture your true self through the small group Art CREATIVITY classes from  from the early years.  Concettina’s  goal is to nurture creativity, coach in the arts and compliment the NSW educational curriculum through the arts whilst making learning fun, meaningful and authentic. The following flexible learning process  facilitated by Concettina is encouraged during the workshops:  Inspiration presented, explore, create, make and reflect individually and/or as a small group or a larger group.  We conclude with a formal reflection time.  Then we pack up and clean up together.

Some Terms and conditions listed below (The full document will be emailed together with the enrolment form.  A brief (10 min) phone meeting is required to get to know you and the students goals and interests:

COVID PLAN will be emailed to you  and please remain home if you are sick or have cold symptoms. 

Scan the QR code when you enter the Dance studio

  1. If a family can’t make a scheduled lesson they might be able to have credit towards  a music lesson of the same value in the same term. Depends on availability of spots.

  2. If any family member needs to eat they can eat their food in the hallway of the dance studio but in any studio room. NO FOOD in the dance studios, only water bottles.

  3.  All family members are encouraged to participate in the workshops.

  4. Only one Dance studio is being used for these workshops (piano room) all other rooms are out of bounds.

  5.  Parents are required to supervise their children at all times especially when using any tools like scissors.

  6.  If there are any urgent concerns please let Connie know straight away and if they are not please contact her by phone after the workshop.

  7. All families are encouraged to help with the setting up at 10 am each  if they are not busy watching babies and toddlers.

  8. Please let me know if you can bring a fold up table.  Art mats will be used to avoid glue going on the floor.

  9. All families are required to assist in the packing up of resources towards the end of the workshop. We need to be out of the premises at 11.30 am to avoid further charges of rent. (Any assistance to keep the costs low will be greatly appreciated)

  10. Please BYO note book for the children to draw/write any plans or ideas.  Recyclable materials are supplied.  BYO any paper/craft materials for decorations later some will be supplied also.
  11. All rubbish needs to go in the rubbish bags/bins provided in the studio (not the ones in the hall way)

  12. No running on the premises

  13. Please seek permission from Connie with regards to taking photos but you can take notes about your child to put into your own child/children’s home school program.

  14. The families are encouraged to take their projects home and work on it before the next workshop.  Please bring the developed project to the next workshop.
